Honesty & Integrity in a Bingo Hall

Our player's opinion poll indicates that the #1 factor players look for in bingo hall is the honesty and integrity of the operator and in the game. What does this really mean? Here is what it means to me:
  1. Operator must have open and transparent communication with the players . Operators must say what he or she means and means what he or she says and follow through with what has been already committed.
  2. Treat all players equally and fairly.  NEVER play favorites. Allow equal access to all pull tab games.
  3. NEVER change a game or payout structure that has been previously given to players. Do not change the rules during the playing of the game.
  4. Never accept tips from a player for giving them a winner. It's is illegal in the State of Ohio.
  5. Treat all players with respect. (The Golden Rule still applies!)
Please add your ideas of what honesty and integrity means by adding your comments. You may add your comments anonymously.

  2. I don't think some bingo halls that #2 goes by. The worker's will go to certain people and stay with them til they get a TIP which is so unfair to the other pull tab player's. See this all the time where I play bingo at.

  3. I agree 100%. I hate it when I go to bingo and can't get anyone over to sell me tickets, but the table next to me is getting them over and over. And once payouts have been announced they should not be changed mid game.

  4. I agree 100% there is nothing more aggravating than trying to buy tickets, but you can't get the sellers to you.

  5. Favoritism exist at all the halls I attend. You have the same winners winning the instants and the full cards every week. I've seen instants set aside for particular players. I've seen the big spenders having lots of flashboards and not winning. It seems that the 9 ons have all the winning numbers at the bottom or very top of the pack. I've witness tipping. I've seen the hall runners playing at different halls on their off days and winning because they are familiar with where the winning 9 ons and instants are located. These halls won't upgrade to computers and play the same games over and over. Some callers call faster than others. Some bingo machines are so outdated that the same balls come up every game. I've seen players sprinkling holy water on the 9 on's. I'm not sure if that's fair or not. Some halls pay sleepers while others do not. Some halls have payouts based on attendance. Some halls do not have enough volunteers. I've seen players purposely reserving tables for players that are not there yet. I've witness some halls let you pick you're on 9 on's and others pass them out. I've seen instants stacked on tables and not in bins so that they can be mixed up properly. I've heard bingo callers telling the players to "shut up" and using profanity if a cell phone rings. Quite frankly it's not a good look for the halls when there is so much chaos from the caller and the patrons. Bingo is supposed to be for fun and charity but it has gotten so commercial that you feel like you're paying a mortgage and then lose your house to foreclosure. I have been to a hall that has the new computers and they are automated and that makes it easier to focus on the 9 on's. I used to go quite often, now I've slowed down tremendously because you have to know what to expect depending on which hall you attend. It may be the same ole winners with the same ole chaos or maybe...just maybe it's your lucky day. Honesty and integrity go hand in hand. Contending for the BINGO!!

  6. I AGREE WITH ALL OF THIS. aLOT OF HALLS I HAVE BEEN TO PLAY FAVORITES AND IT IS NOT FAIR. THEY ARE ALWAYS SERVED FIRST WITH THE PULL TABS AND WHEN PAPER IS BEING SOLD BETWEEN GAMES. THIS IS NOT BEING FAIR AND HONEST WITH THE HALLS.

  8. The above comments are so true. I have stopped going to certain halls just because of that. The same people are sold tickets before a non-regular is and the same people win each week. Also having family work at the hall and selling to other members of their family makes me very upset too.
